Joaquin Phoenix was the toast of Hollywood at this year’s award ceremony, taking home Best Actor for his role in Joker at the BAFTAs, the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and finished with the 92nd Academy Awards.
The actor is a renowned environmentalist and animal rights activist and is one of the most vocal stars to speak up for those without a voice.
To highlight the truth about waste in the world of fashion, Phoenix announced that he would wear only one classic tuxedo by Stella McCartney on the 2020 awards red carpet, in order to promote sustainable fashion.
British designer Stella McCartney is renowned for her passionate environmentalism, using eco fibres and promoting sustainability and conscious consumerism.
This man is a winner… wearing custom Stella because he chooses to make choices for the future of the planet. He has also chosen to wear this same Tux for the entire award season to reduce waste. I am proud to join forces with you… x Stella#JoaquinPhoenix #GoldenGlobes pic.twitter.com/Ymbkl78ecN
