New Zealand Fashion Week, the premier fashion event in Aotearoa, is set to return in a new biennial format from August 25-30, 2025, in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland. NZ Fashion Week 2025 will take place at Shed 10 on Queens Wharf, with support from Tātaki Auckland Unlimited.
As New Zealand’s most influential fashion platform, NZFW aims to empower the local fashion industry while engaging consumers in a vibrant showcase of talent.
The event will feature both established designers and emerging talents, with a significant change for 2025: designer participation fees will be waived to eliminate barriers for entry.
Feroz Ali, the owner of NZFW, emphasized the importance of inclusivity and support for designers.
“NZFW is a celebration of creativity and talent focused on creating meaningful opportunities for designers,” he said in a press release.
Ali acknowledged the challenges faced by the industry and expressed a commitment to creating an environment where New Zealand fashion can flourish.
“It’s critically important that the NZ fashion industry flourishes and thrives,” he said. “NZ Fashion Week provides a platform to help enable recognition and growth and we’ve been listening to the needs of designers. Our intention is to present an event that champions and uplifts New Zealand fashion and draws consumers.”
He added that the new venue at Shed 10, with its appealing waterfront location, will bring fresh energy to the event.
“Returning in 2025 to the new venue of Shed 10 with its character waterfront appeal, will bring a fresh energy as we continue to evolve our thinking about how to deliver a relevant, uplifting and empowering event that showcases the New Zealand design talent for audiences locally and internationally.”
Founded in 2001, NZFW has evolved from a trade-focused event into a multifaceted showcase that promotes both fashion and culture. It serves as a launching pad for designers looking to grow their brands domestically and internationally. With an audience of over 20,000 attendees and extensive media coverage, NZFW continues to be a vital platform for both established and emerging fashion talents in New Zealand.
