The world has been shook since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were set on becoming “financially independent” by stepping down from their roles as “senior royals”.

And while the “Megxit” news has certainly surprised everyone (although probably none more the Queen herself), we can’t help but admire the Duchess for her eagerness to return to work.

The Duchess has reportedly begun talks with major fashion brands like Givenchy, who designed her wedding dress.

“Meghan is very connected in the fashion industry and there are a lot of major labels who would like to partner with her on projects,” a source told The Sun. “There have already been active discussions with Givenchy. Some of these deals could be worth millions of pounds.”

Of course, this isn’t Markle’s first foray into life as a working mum.

The Duchess was a guest editor for British Vogue with the much-hyped September issue. Under the cover title “Forces for Change,” Markle focused on a diverse range of 15 women (including our own Jacinda Ardern) and drew both praise and criticism for the issue.

In the last couple of days, it has been reported that Markle will provide voiceover work to an unspecified future Disney project in exchange for a donation to the charity organisation Elephants Without Borders. Interestingly, people.com dug into their archives to find a video of pre-screening schmooze during the London premiere of The Lion King. Initially, all eyes were on Meghan Markle making small talk with Beyoncé and Jay-Z, but elsewhere in the mix is a conversation between Prince Harry and Disney head Bob Iger that seems to involve the possibility of lining up some future work for the former Suits actress.

“You know she does voiceovers,” Harry can be heard saying in a video of the encounter, as Iger replies, “Oh, really?”

“Did you know that?” Harry says. “You seem surprised.” Gesturing towards Meghan, who was speaking with Beyoncé and Jay-Z several feet away, Harry can be heard saying, “She’s really interested.”

“Sure,” Iger replies, according to the video. “We’d love to try.”

Time will tell how it all plays out for the couple. Stay tuned to The Last Fashion Bible for the latest updates on the Duchess’ next steps into the fashion industry.
