Pierpaolo Piccioli’s latest collection for Valentino offers a smorgasbord of gorgeous garments for women of all ages, shapes, or cultural tastes. We love the flowing fabrics, flowers, layers, scalloped edges, and sophisticated colour palette.
Where so many other designers have in these fraught times have risen to the fight with throwbacks to ’80s-power-woman shoulder-padded templates, Piccioli has found a new cadence of expression. “Romanticism,” he called it to Vogue. “It’s a strength today, if you’re able to be assertive but not aggressive.”
