Samsung Electronics has unveiled its new 115-inch Micro RGB TV in New Zealand, marking the local debut of its next-generation display technology and a significant step forward in ultra-premium TV design.
The launch took place at Residium Home Centre in Auckland on March 26, 2026, where Samsung, the world’s No.1 TV brand for the 20th consecutive year, introduced what it describes as a breakthrough in picture performance. The 115-inch model is the first display in New Zealand to feature Micro RGB technology—a micro-scale RGB LED backlight system positioned behind a large-format screen.
This new display architecture uses sub-100 μm red, green and blue LEDs that each emit light independently, enabling highly precise light control and improved colour accuracy. Samsung says this establishes a new benchmark for colour, contrast, and immersive viewing. Enhanced picture-processing technologies, including 4K AI Upscaling Pro and AI Motion Enhancer Pro, further refine brightness, smooth motion, and add clarity in real time.

Advanced AI Picture Performance
The 115-inch Micro RGB model incorporates Samsung’s latest display innovations, including Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, Micro RGB Colour Booster Pro and Micro RGB HDR Pro. These technologies leverage AI to enhance dull tones and refine contrast, delivering vivid colour and subtle detail across both bright and dark scenes for improved realism and picture fidelity.
The display also features Micro RGB Precision Colour 100, delivering 100% of the BT.2020 wide colour gamut. It has been certified by Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE) for precise Micro RGB colour reproduction, producing finely controlled hues that appear true to life on screen.
Glare-Free Technology for Daytime Viewing
Samsung has also introduced its proprietary Glare Free technology on the 115-inch model, designed to minimise reflections even in bright lighting conditions. The system uses a specially engineered low-reflection layer that disperses external light and reduces internal light-scattering without distorting picture quality.
The company describes this as a new physical solution for reflecting external light sources, supported by AI gamma adjustment to add an additional layer of refinement and maintain viewing clarity.
Tailored for Sport and Sound Control
Recognising the importance of sport to New Zealand audiences, Samsung has included customisable viewing modes. AI Football Mode Pro enhances the game-day experience through AI-driven picture and sound tuning designed to replicate stadium-level quality.
In addition, AI Sound Controller Pro allows users to raise or lower the volume of the crowd, commentary, or background music, creating a personalised listening experience for both sports and general entertainment.
Availability in New Zealand
Samsung’s full 2026 TV range is expected to be unveiled in May. However, the 115-inch Micro RGB model is available now at selected retailers across New Zealand, including:
