After two years, Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) is once again going ahead with physical shows for the AW22 season. And that means one thing: Copenhagen Fashion Week street style! One of the most innovative and interesting fashion weeks, CPHFW leads the fashion pack in terms of being the first fashion week to show each season. It also leads the conversation of sustainable fashion. CPHFW is regarded as the most environmentally friendly of all the cities that participate in fashion month.

This is the second year of the Sustainability Action Plan that looks at bringing long-term change to the fashion business. As part of the 2023 Sustainability Requirements, the Sustainability Action Plan introduces a minimal set of standards that all show schedule brands must adhere to in order to achieve the event’s ambition of becoming a leading fashion week.

Not only is each participating brand bound by CPHFW’s ambitious Sustainability Action Plan, but it has also banned the use of single-use plastic hangers and garment bags and is committed to offsetting its own carbon emissions by enforcing strict preventive production policies that are now also overseen by other Nordic institutions like the Icelandic Fashion Council, the Norwegian Fashion Hub, and Oslo Runway, further cementing its place at the top of the fashion world’s fashion weeks.

The runways aren’t the only location to identify new trends — CPHFW attendees are known for their street style. We spotted trends of cargo pants and baggy jeans, pops of colour seen on multiple textures from leather to faux fur, the latter being part of another trend: “hygge,” Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness.

Photographer Nick Leuze was on the scene catching all the show-stopping looks from the Copenhagen Fashion Week street style stars taking street style to the next level.
