The Edmund Hillary Collection today launched its highly anticipated womenswear line, a year after making the announcement at New Zealand Fashion Week 2018.

Like the menswear line, the jackets and knitwear draw inspiration from the clothing worn by Sir Edmund Hillary on his iconic 1953 Mt Everest expedition.

“Women have been requesting Edmund Hillary garments, and even purchasing the men’s ones, since we first launched the range last year so we’re delighted to be able to present this first collection,” said Clare Hall-Taylor, marketing director for Edmund Hillary Collection.

Aimed at the adventurous and adventurous-at-heart, quality, fit and design are at the core of the collection.

“These are timeless pieces that will become a staple of the modern woman’s wardrobe for years to come,” said Hall-Taylor.

Five jackets and a range of stylish and aspirational knitwear is available. The jackets were made in Europe using ethically sourced materials.

The knitwear was all handmade through Fair Trade in Equador, with plans for the company to take knitwear production to Nepal to continue the heritage legacy of the country and Sir Ed.

A recent successful capital raising round has enabled the company to expand quickly into the international market, with stockists in China, Australia, U.K. and New Zealand.
