Kathryn Wilson has established herself as New Zealand’s premier footwear designer. This year, to celebrate 15 years of business, the talented designer put on a memorable and vibrant runway show at NZFW that featured a cast of majorettes in sequin marching outfits, headed by one of Wilson’s credited muses, Bic Runga.

The show saw a stunning mix of SS 18 and AW 19 marching down the runway to the beat of a live band and upbeat tunes.

We caught up with Wilson backstage before her show to talk about how she’s stayed at the top for so long, the people that helped her get where she is and her tips for young designers.
