Whether you agree with her husband’s policies or not, there is no denying that First Lady Melania Trump has some sartorial sway. Appearing to put some recent negative press (like wearing THAT jacket or her recent doppelgänger conspiracy), Melania appears to have upped her wardrobe choices during her recent European trip.

With a wardrobe that includes Christian Louboutin shoes, gorgeous gowns and an abundance of blazers, we count down our favourite five Melania Trump moments in Europe.

Elie Saab: Cocktail NATO Summit

Melania wore the sheer Elie Saab dress with nude underlay and a nude pair of Christian Louboutin pumps as she attended a cocktail party as part of the NATO summit. This look is perfect for a summer event without being too formal. The playful silhouette is feminine and flattering for her figure. While the ensemble looked great, the real question is, was the dress’ transparency a bit too risqué given the type of event and Melania’s status?

Isoude: Arriving in Finland

Melania opted for a polished grey Isoude jacket with tan detailing for a casual jet-set look. She paired it with leather Ralph Lauren leather leggings and a tan Hermès bag to complete the ensemble. The outfit is casual enough for long-haul flights but definitely appropriate for Air Force One as she arrives in Vantaa, Finland.

J. Mendel: Banquet Dinner

Melania wore a soft yellow Grecian gown by J.Mendel for the Trump’s first official visit to Britain for a banquet dinner at the Blenheim Palace. The gown was made of chiffon that was intricately stitched to create a ruched bodice that fell from the waist in a princess-style sweep of pleats. The panels fell from each shoulder giving a cape like impression, a style that Melania seems particularly fond of. The colour perfectly complimented her glowy skin tone and was an appropriate choice for such a grand event.

Victoria Beckham: UK Visit

Melania embraced UK talent by wearing the British designer Victoria Beckham on her recent trip. The colourful dress was designed by Beckham especially for the occasion and consisted of navy, nude, maroon and seasonal pops of orange. The dress was the perfect summer day ensemble that seemed light and airy for the British heatwave.

Christian Dior: Meeting the Queen

Meeting her Majesty the Queen would be stressful for anyone but Melania’s choice in a Christian Dior suit was a perfect choice. The shell-pink skirt suit was form-fitting and elegant while her hair was styled in an updo that making Melania look all the more regal as she politely shook Queen Elizabeth II hand. The custom suit was a take on a pre-fall design by the French fashion house’s creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri. The silhouette recalled the styles favoured by fellow First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the early 1960s, who Melania has previously referenced as a style muse.

Bonus: The Doppelgänger

Like every high profile person, there is always rumours of body doubles, doppelgänger and impersonators. Melania Trump is no different, and in a recent United States press conference Melania stepped out in a Burberry trench and Christian Louboutin flats. Her eyes were disguised behind big black frames and the internet was quick to point out the possibility of a doppelgänger taking Melania’s place at events she would rather not attend. The rumours were sparked when Melania seemed a lot shorter than her husband compared to previous photos taken of the couple. Little did these internet sleuths know is that Melania was actually wearing ballet flats, a rarity for the first lady.

A doppelgänger or not, we love this look as a classic everyday outfit that every woman could incorporate into her wardrobe. A trench is a staple in winter and has the ability to make a casual black pant seem more refined.
