The Louis Vuitton AW18 collection, the finale of the season, was staged in the terraces of the Louvre on a cantilevered stage. Metal chains and doodads elaborately trimmed cropped jackets; dense beadwork decorated the oddly asymmetrically draped halter tops for evening. Dedicated to the women designer Nicolas Ghesquière grew up around, the collection was built on classic French archetypes – the trophy jacket, the knee-length skirt, the trouser suit, the court shoe.
