At FashionTV.nz we care about what is in the products we use; after all what we put on our skin and inside our bodies becomes us. We also think it’s important to support locally made products of high quality. Luckily, there is no shortage of them in New Zealand. This month, our online editor, Melissa Reid, reviewed six New Zealand made skin serums, used after cleansing the face and before moisturising. Below are the honest, unpaid results to help educate our readers.

Antipodes: Chia & Kiwi Seed Superfood Serum

After a few days using Antipodes’ Chia & Kiwi Seed Superfood Serum, my skin looked visibly more radiant, and I went without wearing make up to fully reap the benefits. The fragrance of jasmine combines with a hint of kiwifruit, which made me feel like I was nourishing my skin.

The formula delivers moisture to dry areas, so, for this reason, I recommend this product to those with drier skin who want to give their skin a superfood boost.

Evolu: Radiance Rosehip & Friends Facial Oil Complex

Radiance Rosehip & Friends Facial Oil Complex combines five oils – Rosehip, Argan, Grapeseed, Pomegranate and Kiwifruit seed – to create a delicious oil that was absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling radiant and nourished. The product is lightweight, non-greasy and smells amazing. The fast-acting formula makes it perfect for wearing during the day – even under makeup – as it won’t shine through.

For this reason, I recommend this product to anyone who needs a little daily skin vitality.

The Herb Farm: Radiance Boost Facial Serum

Herb Farm’s Radiance Boost Facial Serum is lightweight and goes onto the skin evenly when applied. I waited a few minutes between serum and moisturiser, but this product seems to feel slightly sticky on the skin even after a few minutes. I would, therefore, recommend using in the night time or if you are going bare-faced (no makeup) during the day. This product did make my skin look and feel as if I was glowing from the inside.

For this reason, I would recommend the product to anyone with a dry skin type for a healthy, natural glow.

Linden Leaves: Miraculous Facial Oil with Organic White Tea and Organic Rosehip Oil

Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, Linden Leave’s Miraculous Facial Oil feels like silk when being applied. After several days of use, I could see a reduction in the fine lines around my eyes and my skin felt softer and firmer. The fragrance is gorgeous and I was left feeling like my skin was all the better from using this product.

For this reason, I recommend this product to those looking to improve skin elasticity.

Skinfood: Certified Organic Coco+Nut Oil

Skinfood’s Coco+Nut Oil is a certified organic, nutrient-rich blend of four nut oils – Organic coconut, Sweet Almond, Macadamia nut and Apricot kernel. The oil glided onto my sin and was instantly absorbed without leaving an oily residue. My skin felt soft and silky from the first application.

The combination of selected oils are perfect for those with sensitive skin, and can be used all over your body – including your hair! For this reason, I recommend anyone wanting a fuss-free nutrient boost.

Snowberry: Intensive Renewal Face Serum with eProlex™

Snowberry’s Intensive Renewal Face Serum contains a world-first peptide complex called eProlex™, a world-first skincare breakthrough which was developed by Snowberry at the University of Auckland.

Developed specifically to reverse early signs of aging, the silky serum lived up to its word and after only a couple of applications, I could see a reduction in fine lines around my eyes. I even had comments on how good my skin looked!

I recommend this product to anyone who wants to reduce lines and wrinkles – who doesn’t?!
